Overview
v0.22.4 — the cleanup patch. Released October 21, 2026. 14 non-merge commits · 82 changed files (+1,475 / −3,022) · 13 merged PRs, measured at commit 4d04303818b.
No new capability ships in this release, and that is the point. The largest single change deletes the suggestion pills that appeared above the desktop composer and the helper code that existed only to render them. Everything else is small: one empty prompt removed, one wrong label corrected, one re-pairing path made safe, one lint rule relaxed, one build check given more room.
Highlights
1. The composer suggestion pills are gone
The pills above the composer appeared without a clear reason, mostly nudging you to set up MCP servers. They are removed, and so are the helpers that only they used. There is no toggle: the feature is deleted rather than defaulted off. (#142559)
2. Plugins that install nothing skip the dependency consent step
A plugin that declares no dependencies — or whose pyproject.toml installs nothing — used to show a dependency consent prompt with an empty list. Since plugins grew into portable packages, a lot of them add only a tool or a slash command and no Python packages at all. They now enable without the empty prompt. (#142569)
3. The approval-mode chip follows the active profile
On multi-profile installs the desktop could display an approval mode that belonged to a different profile than the one currently active. The chip now reads the active profile’s own mode, so what you see is what will run. (#142565)
4. The plugin catalog grew by six entries, and two built-ins moved out

Telegram Business also moves from the official shelf to the Hermes Labs community tier. Run hermes plugins update to pick up the moved entries; without it a command can look as though it disappeared.
